Our Story

The Northern California / Nevada District of the Assemblies of God purchased the current property at 3015 Farm District Road in November of 2005. The five-acre parcel included a 2,600 square foot home and a 900 plus square foot three-car garage.
In the Spring of 2006 Rev. Duane Jenner and his wife Sandy moved to Fernley to help launch Crosswinds Church in Fernley.

A Tuesday night Bible Study was started in July and the first Sunday service was held September 17, 2006. Crosswinds Assembly in Sparks, Nevada supported the church that first year with volunteers being sent to help, while teams were being formed from within the church to facilitate ministry. As the church outgrew the garage they were meeting in, they began meeting in the city’s middle school in June of 2008, and did so for two years before coming back to the Farm District location in May of 2010.

Finally, in 2014, the first phase of a new building and paved parking lot was completed. Additional parking spaces, sidewalk, and lighting were installed in the summer of 2021. Throughout the first 15 years of the churches history, God has blessed Crosswinds and allowed the church to minister to many people and honor God faithfully.

Pastor Duane and Sandy retired from the Lead Pastor position in December of 2021, and Associate Pastor Bob & Linda Bridges were asked to serve in an interim role while the search was made for the next Lead Pastor.

In May of 2022, Pastor Stephen and Cassie Rose were invited to candidate for the position of Lead Pastor, and were voted in unanimously to serve as the next Lead Pastors of Crosswinds Fernley. Their first Sunday was Father’s Day, June 19th, 2022.

We have only just begun to see what God will do in Fernley, Nevada through Crosswinds Church. We would love for you to be a part of that journey with us!
